Introducing Our New Meatless Gyro for a Limited Time

The Meatless Gyro is available in participating locations nationwide for a limited time only.

Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new Meatless Gyro! The new, limited time menu item is a healthy, gluten-free alternative to our beef gyro, which has been a staple of our menu for decades. The Meatless Gyro, made with pea protein, brown rice, coconut oil, Halal Guys spice mix, beets, mushrooms, and paprika, is a soy-free option that is healthy, delicious and a great decision for anyone with a plant-based diet.

The origin of the gyro dates back to Bursa, Turkey during the 19th century Ottoman Empire. They became especially popular in the United States in the 1960s and 70s in New York City and Chicago.

The recently unveiled Eggplant Hummus is another vegan option made with chickpeas, mixed with tahini sauce, olive oil, lemon juice and spices. The eggplants come from the island of Crete in Greece. It is available on its own as a side dish, on a platter or sandwich, or as a catering order.

Our Meatless Gyro platter or sandwich can be optionally topped with a special new vegan Tzatziki Sauce made with aquafaba (or the liquid leftover after cooking chickpeas). Like our chicken, gyro, and falafel items, the platter is served over rice, with a salad of lettuce and tomatoes and optional toppings, and drizzled with tzatziki or hot sauce and the sandwich on warm pita with lettuce tomato, and any of our sauces. Along with our new Eggplant Hummus, we’re excited to introduce more menu items to fans of The Halal Guys who are looking for plant-based options. With no cholesterol and 21 grams of protein per serving, the new addition is also another healthy choice when ordering.

The Meatless Gyro and Eggplant Hummus are currently available at participating locations nationwide. As always, keep an eye on social media and here on our website for future limited time offer releases and menu updates.
