Acclaimed New York City and Tokyo-based streetwear brand Lafayette (LFYT) is teaming up with The Halal Guys for a capsule collection coming September 18th, 2021. LFYT is a brand and line of Privilege New York. Privilege New York is a brand, boutique, and flagship store of LFYT, located in the Lower East Side, Manhattan. It has worked with artists like Jadakiss, Stash, Futura, Harry Fraud, Steve Nishimoto, ESOW, Freddie Gibbs, and more to bring style, music and culture together for the streets. LFYT was founded in 2003 and is based in New York and Japan.
The items included in the collaboration capsule are a Coach Jacket, Long Sleeve Tee, Hoodie, Short Sleeve Tee, Dad Hat, Cushion, Keychain, Towel, and Sauce Dispenser. The items come in a variety of colors and styles inspired by The Halal Guys branding. Designs include a cushion based on our iconic combo platter, a long sleeve tee inspired by our famous hot sauce, a short sleeve tee based on our menu, and a hoodie with a photo of our original Manhattan street cart.
Over the past 18 years, Lafayette has released over 200 styles of items per year. “We finally opened a New York City flagship store in 2017 which had been my dream,” said Jun Kin, founder of Lafayette and Privilege. He continued, “It is an honor for me to work with The Halal Guys as they’re New York’s most famous street food.”
Begun as a modest cart on the streets of New York in 1990, The Halal Guys has turned into an international brand with nearly 100 stores. Lafayette has gone from a New York and Tokyo-based streetwear company to a worldwide brand with over ten stores across Japan and in New York City. We are excited to bring this collaboration to both of our fanbases and beyond. We’ve been servin’ the street since 1990. Now we’re servin’ the streetwear too.
